How it works
1. Buy ticket
Choose your experience and amount of players, and complete the purchase. Once payment is confirmed, you’ll receive a WhatsApp message for your booking.
2. Get ready
Get your phones charged, sneakers on and game faces ready. Your tour group can start as soon as you are at your chosen experience’s starting location.
3. Get started
Ready, set, go! You’ll meet your host, Pīata, via WhatsApp and your timer will start. You’ll get a run through of how things work.
4. Play
Play the game your way. Some groups make a day out of it, while others sprint between clues. The experiences are timed which act as your score – incorrect guesses, requests for hints or skipping clues incur time penalties.

Andrew Te Whaiti (Ngāti Kahungunu) is the CEO of Hidden Aotearoa, where he leads innovative interactive storytelling experiences. A respected global leader, he serves on local, national, and international boards, representing his people and community with cultural wisdom. His unique approach to connecting culture with business stems from extensive experience in high-performing environments. Andrew's leadership at Hidden Aotearoa and the broader Hidden Group emphasizes cultural respect and innovation, transforming storytelling while honouring traditional values. His commitment to sharing authentic narratives creates meaningful bridges between traditional knowledge and modern business practices. A former professional rugby player, Andrew holds an MBA and is based in Omokoroa.
Kylie brings extensive experience in business management, governance, and strategic advisory roles to her position as NZ Operations Manager at Hidden Aotearoa. She is deeply passionate about Māori and Indigenous economic development, with a commitment to driving transformational outcomes that empower communities and create lasting impact. Central to her work is the reclamation of culture and the protection of cultural narratives, ensuring Indigenous stories and values are honored and preserved for future generations.Her career is defined by leadership across diverse sectors, fostering collaboration, innovation, and operational excellence. Kylie will have leadership oversight of the NZ experience operations, ensuring the seamless delivery of culturally authentic and impactful experiences. As a leader in iwi and community initiatives, she is dedicated to advancing Hidden Aotearoa’s mission while building meaningful connections between Aotearoa and global partners, including the Singapore Head Office.
Cynthia Fang is the Business Development Manager at Hidden Aotearoa, based in the sunny Bay of Plenty. With two decades of tourism industry experience, she specialises in developing innovative solutions and fostering collaborative partnerships. At Hidden Aotearoa, she leads strategic growth initiatives guided by manaakitanga and kaitiakitanga principles.
Having explored over 30 countries, her passion for sustainable tourism and digital transformation drives her commitment to advancing New Zealand's tourism sector while honouring our cultural heritage. She thrives on creating meaningful connections and delivering excellence in everything she does.
Jeff Parsons is an Experience Design Manager at Hidden Aotearoa, bringing over a decade of expertise in user experience design, research, and strategy. With a creative background as a musician, songwriter, and a university degree in business and marketing, Jeff has a keen sense of storytelling, creativity, and shaping meaningful experiences.
Passionate about exploring how technology can foster genuine connections with the environment and community, Jeff strives to create experiences that move and inspire people. Based in Tauranga, he enjoys spending time with his young family and exploring the outdoors.
Jayde Drumm is the Creative Director of the Hidden Design Studio, leading the creative vision for Hidden Experience. With over 20 years in design and advertising, she brings a deep understanding of how storytelling, creativity, and design shape immersive and meaningful experiences.
A lifelong explorer, Jayde is passionate about travel, discovering new places and cultures, and crafting work that sparks curiosity and connection. She also enjoys mentoring emerging creatives, helping others explore, learn, and see the world in new ways. Based in Christchurch, she balances her work with family life and a constant pursuit of new adventures.
Marketing Manager
As Director of Brand, Culture and Storytelling at Hidden Aotearoa, Tuteri Rangihaeata brings expert knowledge in cultural narrative and authentic storytelling to our innovative experiences. With deep understanding of te ao Māori, he skilfully bridges tourism and tikanga, ensuring our stories are told with cultural integrity and respect.
Holding a Master's in Business Marketing, Tuteri has an distinctive blend of cultural expertise and business acumen allows Hidden Aotearoa to create immersive experiences that honour tradition while embracing modern storytelling techniques. His leadership ensures our experiences remain both culturally authentic and commercially compelling.
